Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI)

What is the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI)?

CYBHI is a state-funded program that improves access to mental and behavioral health services for students. As part of CYBHI, districts are now able to receive reimbursement from health plans for providing free mental health services to students. Reimbursements that districts receive help fund mental health positions, services for students, and professional development opportunities.

There is NO cost to families under CYBHI. Families don’t pay anything, not even a co-pay or deductible. In order for schools to receive reimbursement payments through CYBHI, schools may ask you to update your health insurance information. Your health insurance benefits WILL NOT be impacted or affected.

All HBUHSD students are eligible to receive services through CYBHI, regardless of insurance status.
