Our district aligns our athletic programs with the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and abides by their vision and mission statements as follows:
Athletic competition is an integral part of the high school experience. CIF is uniquely positioned to foster student growth in values and ethics. CIF’s ideal of Pursuing Victory with Honorism provides the opportunity to dramatically influence the actions of the athletic community. CIF strives to strengthen the integrity of students and adults across the state by promoting the concepts of sportsmanship, honesty, and quality academics. These priorities advance the highest principles of character – trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship.
It’s bigger than sports. The CIF provides students with the opportunity to belong, connect, and compete in education-based experiences.
Every student in California has the unique opportunity to participate and experience being a part of a school team or student organization. The CIF and our school communities support our students’ journeys by developing impactful relationships through transformational educators and coaches who provide a healthy environment for growth and development. It is essential to have families and community supporters who display positive behavior which will allow our students to create their own experiences.
