What does software subscription mean?

Ans. The software has a monthly subscription fee to remain active.  Once the subscription fee is no longer paid, the software will stop working.

Can I pay a one time cost to purchase the software?

Ans.  Microsoft is moving towards a subscription fee model and has discontinued the one-time purchase of software under the Home Use Program.

Will I still be able to use my Microsoft software subscription if I leave the District?

Ans.  The subscription is verified with your work email address.  Once you leave the District, your email account will be deactivated, which will also discontinue your software subscription.  Meaning it will no longer work. If you do create any files with Office, please make sure to have a copy before you are disconnected.
