Huntington Beach Union High School District

Interdistrict Transfers

If you reside outside the district boundaries and wish for your student to be considered for enrollment in one of the district's six comprehensive high schools (Edison, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Marina, Westminster, or Ocean View), you must first be released from your district of residence by obtaining an Interdistrict Attendance Agreement.  The Interdistrict Attendance Agreement must be submitted to the Huntington Beach Union High School District with copies of the following:

  1. Most recent transcript or report card
  2. Attendance records
  3. Disciplinary records - if no record exists, must submit "no disciplinary" documentation with an authorized signature on school letterhead or Aeries print out
  4. Individualized Educational Program (applicable to Special Education students only)

The primary acceptance window for Interdistrict Attendance requests will begin on Monday, January 13, 2020 through February 28, 2020. Notification of enrollment status will be mailed on April 10, 2020.

Students who submit paperwork between March 9, 2020 and March 27, 2020 will be allowed a transfer based upon availability.  HBUHSD will attempt to accommodate a parent request for a particular school, but the request is not guaranteed. Placement is based on space availability.

Students who submit paperwork after May 4, 2020 will be placed on a waiting list.
