Math Placement

Hello Students & Families,

The HBUHSD Math Placement Process for the Fall 2021 utilizes multiple measures to ensure that all students are placed in the most appropriate and academically challenging math course. Note that only students who are currently enrolled in an Algebra 1 or Geometry course need to take a Placement exam. If you are an 8th grader in Math 8, there is no placement exam, you will be enrolled in Algebra 1 or Algebraic Mindsets based on teacher recommendation and student preference.

Please click on the Google document attached below in the language of your preference to learn more about the HBUHSD Math Placement process.
