Welcome to the Classified Human Resources Office. The Huntington Beach Union High School District has been a merit system district since 1966 with a Personnel Commission and is dedicated to protect and adhere to the principles of merit as specified in the Education Code. The Commission meets monthly to consider examinations, eligibility lists, reclassifications, salary studies, rule changes, disciplinary appeals, and other areas of importance to classified employees. HBUHSD employs approximately 700 classified employees who provide vital services to support and enhance student learning. Additionally, we employ approximately 1100 classified exempt employees who provide substitute, coaching or other short-term and/or, specialized services. The District serves the cities of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Westminster and was voted among Orange County’s Top 10 Workplaces in 2010 and 2012.
