Openly licensed educational resources are materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and assessment without cost. Using these resources gives students access to the most up-to-date, high quality, and relevant content available. Additionally, this empowers teachers as creative professionals by giving them the ability to adapt and customize learning materials to meet the needs of their students without breaking copyright laws.
Partnership with U.S. Department of Education provides openly licensed educational resources
As a #GoOpen launch district, HBUHSD is committing to transition to using open educational resources in their 9th grade English Language Arts and Algebra 1 classes starting with the 2016-17 school year. By joining this initiative, HBUHSD will collaborate with other districts in curating, creating, and sharing resources with fellow #GoOpen Launch districts while also being supported by #GoOpen Ambassador districts who have already taken steps toward implementing the use of openly licensed materials at the district-level.
