27 HBHS Student-Athletes Sign Their National Letters of Intent

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Huntington Beach High School (HBHS) athletes celebrated their collegiate futures during Athletic Signing Day where they signed their National Letters of Intent.

HBHS student-athletes gathered in the school’s gymnasium, excited to announce and officially secure their futures as collegiate student-athletes. The bleachers were full of supporters for each student, including coaches, families, friends, teammates, and teachers, while APA’s MMET students sang a collection of songs, adding to the day’s excitement. Athletic Director Melissa Vandenbosch opened up the ceremony, thanking everyone who helped each athlete get to this point in their careers, especially their parents, then each athlete walked up to the microphone to announce the schools they have committed to. 

The 27 student-athletes who signed their letters to play at the next level are:

  6. Football - Sean Marella - United States Air Force Academy
  7. Rowing - Sydney Harris - University of Tennessee
  8. Rowing - Charlotte Dosier - University of Pennsylvania
  9. Women’s Soccer - Jaiden Anderson - University of Southern California
  10. Women’s Soccer - Erin Kelley - Eastern Oregon University
  11. Softball - Ashley Long - University of Nebraska, Omaha
  12. Softball - Saige Anderson - University of California, Santa Barbara
  13. Softball - Zoe Prystajko - Stanford University
  14. Softball - Liah Lummus - Loyola Marymount University

“I am very proud of the hard work and dedication that these student-athletes have shown not only in their sport but also in the classroom,” exclaimed HBHS Athletic Director Melissa Vandenbosch. “This is an amazing group of athletes, and I can't wait to see them thrive at the next level. They will always be O4L (Oilers 4 Life!)”

The Huntington Beach Union High School District is thrilled to see 27 Oiler athletes passionate and eager to take the next step in their athletic and educational careers. These student-athletes have bright futures ahead, and we are excited to watch them excel at the next level.
