New Teacher Induction Program

Our mission is to support, prepare, and inspire our new teachers to meet the needs of all students through innovative learning. HBUHSD strives to help all of our new teachers reflect on their practice, grow as educators, and meet all professional criteria for clearing their preliminary credentials.

The primary goal of our program is to pair each new teacher with a coach who will serve as a constant guide throughout the two-year program. The coach and candidate will meet on a weekly basis to discuss immediate teaching needs, develop the candidate's cycles of inquiry, analyze student outcomes, and reflect on growth as a professional educator.

Lastly, the Induction Program will provide candidates and coaches with meaningful professional learning opportunities. New teachers will participate in learning environment observations, technology training, as well as other sessions to share ideas, build community, and expand their teaching strategies.
