Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention - Harvest of the Month

The Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention program (formerly Network for a Healthy California) developed Harvest of the Month to encourage students to eat more fruits and vegetables by providing a monthly taste test. Through taste tasting, students learn the benefits of eating the produce that are locally grown in California.

National Nutrition Month Activities

March is National Nutrition Month. It is a great time to encourage staff, students, and their families to make better food choices and be physically active everyday!

A-Z Salad Bar

With the help of the WHS Nutrition Advocate Club students, all students were encouraged to sample a variety of fruits and vegetables during National Nutrition Month at the A-Z Salad Bar. They went down the line to sample fruits and vegetables through the alphabet such as asparagus to kiwi to zucchini. Many students tried some of the fruits and vegetables for the first time.
