HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) is excited to announce Mrs. Amy Sabol as the next Director of Certificated Human Resources, pending Board approval.

Mrs. Amy Sabol transitions to the district office after serving as the principal of Westminster High School (WHS) for the past 7 years. As an educational leader with over 18 years of experience in grades 6-12, including over a decade in school administration, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be valuable to her new role.

During her tenure in education, Mrs. Sabol has overseen staff development, performance systems, and strategic planning. As WHS Principal, Mrs. Sabol’s collaborative leadership and student-centered approach led to many recognitions and accomplishments across programs. WHS has been named a California National Demonstration School and AVID National Demonstration School, expanded dual enrollment and career technical education pathways and opportunities, created a Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion program, opened a WellSpace, grown the MERITS program, and emphasized athletics, leading to increased league and CIF championships.

A true testament to her supportive, steadfast, and dedicated nature, she received the Arts Administrator Award from the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators in 2024 and was named a Woman of Distinction by the city of Westminster in 2025.
