State and County Issue Warnings on Rainbow Fentanyl

Dear HBUHSD Families,

Across the nation, several state agencies have issued warnings about a new version of the synthetic opioid known as fentanyl. This new drug, dubbed “rainbow fentanyl,” is a potentially fatal drug that is being distributed in various forms and bright colors, made to look like candy to children and young adults.

HBUHSD is staying vigilant to be sure all students remain safe on our campuses. Doses of Naloxone (Narcan), an opioid antagonist medication that is used to reverse an opioid overdose, are now available on all HBUHSD campuses in case an emergency occurs on campus.
