MHS Welcomes Mia White as new Assistant Principal of Supervision

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Marina High School (MHS) welcomes Mia White to Viking Nation as their new Assistant Principal of Supervision.

Mia White is no stranger to the Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD), where she is a proud graduate of Edison High School (EHS). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine (1998), then continued her education at National University, earning her Master’s degree in Education (2011). She also received her Administrative credential from California State University, Long Beach (2018).

White comes to MHS after spending 15 years as an English teacher at Ocean View High School (OVHS). During her time as a Seahawk, she coached cross country and track and field for seven years and also spent time as the English department chair, School Site Council representative and chair, the District Educators Association (DEA) site representative, New Teacher Induction (NTI) Coach, and the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Club faculty advisor.

Dr. Morgan Smith, MHS Principal, is thrilled to add White to his team, “We're excited to welcome our newest Viking to the Marina community! Mrs. White brings a wealth of experience and classroom expertise and will be a great addition to our administrative team. Mrs. White is a student-centered educator and will be a positive contributor to our campus community!”

“I am excited to continue my journey in education as an administrator at Marina High School,” stated Mia White. “I look forward to learning the name-face-story of the Viking staff and students.”

Mia White’s passion and dedication to education are apparent, and HBUHSD is excited for her transition into the assistant principal role at MHS.
