Health is a graduation requirement. All students will be required to take a health course for one semester during the 9th grade.
The links for the forms located at the bottom of this page is for students with special circumstances or impacted schedules. A schedule is considered to be impacted if a student cannot take the Health course as a part of their regular school day. This may include students in programs such as IB, MERITS, APA, MUN, CIBACS, Honors courses and Band. These options are for those students only. Administrative approval is needed in advance for each student to select one of the alternatives listed below. Please indicate from the selections below when/how your student will complete this requirement. Parents of incoming 9th grade students are asked to wait until class scheduling begins in April to contact the student's home high school Assistant Principal and/or Guidance Staff.
If your student is wanting to take an online Health course through Pacific Coast High School (PCHS), the online application/packets can be found at: www.pchs.k12.ca.us. The packet is 6 pages, and must be filled out completely, and submitted to the HBUHSD c/o of Student Services for approval by Friday, May 20, 2016. PCHS has a deadline of May 27, 2016, however, our district’s deadline is one week earlier due to space availability. Please include a current unofficial transcript that can be obtained from your current home school. Prior approval from your home high school Assistant Principal of Guidance must be obtained, all packets must be brought to the district office for approval, once approved, packets can be picked up to must be brought to Pacific Coast HS in Tustin for enrollment.
